Sports metaverse startup Gym Class announced the completion of an $8 million seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Y Combinator.
Gym Class allows to play basketball (8 players) with players from all over the world using virtual headsets. Players control full-body avatars through their own body movements, and hold Quest controllers to shoot on customizable digital courts that users can design, Passing, dribbling and dunking.
It is reported that the app has nearly one million downloads in the Meta Quest App Lab, and is scheduled to launch on the Meta Quest Store this fall.
