Community Gaming, an e-sports competition platform that will explore P2E games, announced the completion of a $16 million Series A financing led by SBOpportunity Fund, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group, with participation from Animoca Brands, Binance Labs, BITKRAFT Ventures and Griffin Gaming Partners, CoinFund, Hashed, Multicoin Capital, Shima Capital, Polygon Studios and Consen Sys Mesh, among others, as well as angel investors Axie Infinity co-founder Jeff Zirlin and Yield Guild Games co-founder Gabby Dizon.
Community Gaming started out as an in-person esports and gaming tournament operator, serving organizers and players of all levels.
In 2019, Community Gaming transitioned to an online hybrid platform that uses blockchain-based smart contracts to provide a competitive gaming experience from registration to instant payment.
After the Series A funding, Community Gaming will expand its platform offering, which is expected to allow users to earn additional revenue on the blockchain through gamified tasks within the Community Gaming system later this year.
